The 4th grade had a great time exploring the great outdoors at Jekyll Island!! They spent 3 days learning about different ecological systems, animals, and plants. It started off with lots of rain, but ended with sunshine and warm temperatures! If you have more pictures to share, please e-mail them to me and I'll add them to the blog!!







Herpetology: the study of reptiles and amphibians.
The students were able to get hands-on with some of these fascinating animals!


Slough:learning the importance of fresh water importance and animal habitat.

 Examining the different animals and plants they sifted out of the slough.

Beach: study of ocean life, tides, and the barrier islands.
It was cold and windy!






 This is at the North End beach. An entire petrified forest on the beach because of erosion!












Maritime Forest: study of plants and vegetation! This is the Grandfather Tree.

Small Group: Each group is given a name. These are the Whelks! Do you know what a Whelk is??

Our 5th graders had a fabulous time visiting Point University yesterday! They participated in International Day Activity Centers. The students were able to learn about the cultures, foods, art, wildlife, famous landmarks, and much more about various countries around the world! Thank you so much to Dr. Southerland and the Point University students for such a great learning experience!

Kindles!!!

Our class has 8 Kindles to use for various projects and research. We finally were able to get our cases for them! The kids are so excited that I won't be in such a panic every time they pick them up!
