SQUIDOLOGY!!

The 4th grade CCATS got a close look at the adaptations that a squid uses in the ocean. They were able to dissect a squid in class to learn all about adaptations!

Kaleb and Makayla are using the ink to write their initials!

Trinity, Tyrun, and Laci are looking for more ink!

Ryan, Kailey, Connor, and Marleigh are diving into their squids!

Kailey is not so sure about this whole dissection thing!

Connor agrees with Kailey!!

Jeramiah and Hannah thought the squid was pretty neat!

Trinity, Tyrun, and Laci are having a blast!

Stepping Into the Past!!

The 5th grade CCATS took a trip back in time to the American Village! They learned the history of the founding of our Nation and how life in the 1700's was very different than today!

Entering the newest building that honors Veterans!

Fascinating paintings!

Our guide tells the students the stories behind the paintings!

Sculpture in the center of foyer.

My favorite painting there! The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

The frieze around the top depicted the history of our Veterans.

Dog tags lined one room of the tribute to Veterans.

Students went to a replica of the Liberty Bell.

Here they are in front of Mount Vernon! Or, are they???

Another group shot, this time in front of the Liberty Bell replica!

We were missing a few in the first shot!

They just can't be still!!!

Inside the Mount Vernon replica. We are learning the history of
Mount Vernon from George Washington's granddaughter!

We also learned about the entertainment of the 1700's!

Like dancing! They learned a traditional dance of the 1760's!

Doesn't Levi look excited??

A bronze statue of George Washington.

We had to deliver a secret message to Paul Revere's wife!

Storm presiding over the meeting!

We will decide our country's fate at this meeting!

Learning about muskets of the 1700's!

They look complicated!

And they are really loud when fired!!

What type of government should our new country have?

How do we decide what is fair?

Shall we pick representatives?

Who will represent us??

This looks like a lot of people!

We shall create a Senate and a House of Representatives!!

More Owl Pellets!!

The 4th grade CCATS were able to dissect owl pellets after studying ornithology! They even tried to put the skeletons they found back together!!

Hattie, McKay, Anaiya, and Jada are working hard to find bones!

Eric and Austin are hard at work!

Desi and Jacyn are finding lots of bones!

Camryn, Ximarie, and LaTaevia have almost got their skeleton back together!

Hattie and Mckay have found some great bones!

This skeleton is really coming along!!

Getting close!

Wow! Look at that rodent!
