3rd Grade Visits the Engineering Department at Auburn University!!

The 3rd grade got a look at some of the cool things the engineering department at Auburn get to build. They also learned about the many different types of engineering out there! As a special treat, the students got a behind the scenes tour of Jordan-Hare Stadium! Take a look at what they saw! WAR EAGLE!!

The kids learned about a hovercraft from our awesome guide!
They learned about the motor and how it stays up.

In the aerospace engineering section, we learned about the different planes and other aircraft built for specific jobs. They are even helping NASA out with some experiments!
Our tour leader, Jessica, stopped long enough to take a photo with our group inside the main building!
Jessica read a story to the students before taking them out for a hands-on activity!
The kids loved making Oobleck!

They even got to choose their own color to make it!

It was ooey and gooey!!

But they enjoyed it!

Welcome to Jordan-Hare Stadium! Many of the students had never been on a college campus, much less inside a stadium!
We came out the same tunnel onto the field as the players do!

We really hoped this would tire them out some, but nope!Inside the locker room!

Eric wanted a picture!

The kids thought the press room was cool!

Gathered around the AU in the locker room!

The kids were told how each week the player has to earn their locker position by their actions and grades on and off the field!

Even an AU on the ceiling!

It was AUsome!

The kids couldn't believe how big the stadium was!

They went into the stadium the same way the players do from the Tiger Walk!

And they petted the Tiger statue for luck!

One of our 5th grade students from LaFayette-Lanier has his dad on the wall in the stadium!

We even were allowed in the Heisman Room!

This was a real treat for the students!

They were able to sit where great players once sat!

Who doesn't like Bo Jackson? Lol!

Owl Pellet Dissection!!

The 4th grade had a lesson on ornithology this semester. As part of the lesson, they learned about an owl's unique digestive system and were able to dissect owl pellets!! How cool!!

The girls did a great job reconstructing the skeleton they found inside the owl pellet!

Way to go Shelby and Andie!

These girls were hard at work!

Sierra and Ambre'onia trying to get their bones back together!

Bryant and Jordyn are sifting through their pellet.

Cody takes a break to smile while Kade works on!

Carter and Nolan are trying to find all the bones in their pellet.

Madison, CD, and Hunter are really into the owl pellet dissection!

This is what is looks like once broken up and the kids have to find the bones!

Jordan, Justin, Kaiden, and Devan are finding lots of bones!

Davin, Macee, Hunter, and Ryder are trying to see just how many animals their owl ate!

Levi and Ty thought this was pretty cool!

Gabe and Logan are reconstructing their skeleton.

Hunter and AJ almost have all their bones found!

Washington, D.C. and New York City!!

Our 5th and 6th graders took on the towns! They really enjoyed learning about our country's government, along with the many monuments and memorials! Take a look!!
