Back in Time to the American Revolution!!

The 5th grade CCATS had a chance to journey back in time to the birth of our great nation! We took a field excursion to the American Village, where the history of the formation of our country comes to life! The students learned about the major people who played a role in the development of our country, our independence, and our constitution. They also participated in the learning of social rituals of the 1700's! The American Village took us from the time of Colonization by Britain to the formation of our government and first president!

We learned about how hard it was to hit a target with a musket!

Seeing a musket fired was really neat!

The CCATS troops are reporting for duty to serve in the American army!

Ryan was selected as our flag carrier!

Getting our orders!

Telling us what is expected of the troops!
Learning how to load a musket!

Jadon is presiding as President of our meeting, while Tyrun gives his opinion!

Camryn now gives her reasons to become a separate country!

Sydney speaks her mind on whether we should break free from Britain!

Jacyn adds her opinion, also!

Jadon calls for a vote to become a separate country!

A statue of George Washington that he laid in plaster for to make it exact!

Our secret meeting of the brothers to thwart the British troops!

Some of the students speak their mind about our plans!

Cameron and Camryn look thrilled to learn the dance of the 1700's!

Round and round they go!

Jadon is really unsure about this!

Camryn is getting lessons from George Washington's granddaughter!

Cameron, Camryn, and Anaiyah listen to the directions intently!

Trinity, Jada, and Braydon are watching intently!

These boys are just glad they were not chosen!

A front row seat to see the dancing!

Gavin and Tyrun are helping teach the boys how to bow properly!

The girls learn to curtsy!

They practiced their bowing and curtsying!

The girls are learning how to do a proper small dip curtsy!

Lots of participation for this trip!
