Catch of the Day!!!

4th grade week B CCATS studied the animal kingdom classification system! Then, they got down to business investigating all the different parts of a fish and the different types of fins they can have. The students were given a pretty fishy riddle to solve! They were given a piece of clay, some cut-out fins, and a clue card about the scientific shape and fins of a certain fish. They had to use the clue card, clay, and cut-out fins to create the fish and then match it to a picture of the actual fish! See how they did below! Then check out the too cute song and dance we learned to remember the proper names of the parts of a fish!

Alex, Cayden, and Jaecobey trying to work out the clues!
Gracie, Hope, and Cadey are working together to figure them out!

Alex, Jaecobey, and Cayden think they have it figured out!

Dillion thinks this part will give him the clue he needs.
Taysean isn't so sure!

Taysean has figured out how to flatten his clay and
Dillion is still working hard!
Cadey, Hope, and Gracie are on a roll!

Gracie wasn't sure her fish looked very much like the picture!

Cayden is having a hard time deciding which picture goes with the fish he made!

Alex and Taysean were done first! Now to match it to the right picture!

This was not Cadey's favorite activity, but she finally got looking good!

Hope had no problem matching her made fish to the right picture!

Jaecobey did a great job of making his fish look like the actual picture!

Dillion's made fish looks a lot like the real thing too!
